Program Description
The National Immigration Project will be hosting our next “Resistance Roundtable,” members-only meeting on June 26 to discuss ongoing challenges practitioners are facing in representing clients before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR). Practitioners have faced an onslaught of EOIR changes seemingly designed to make it more difficult to practice, including: hearing dates moved with no notice of hearing filed; facing new “Deportation Judges” with minimal immigration experience; and trying to keep up with the constant changes in law and procedure.
This Resistance Roundtable will provide a space to discuss recent changes and share tips on how practitioners can best defend their clients in the increasingly hostile EOIR environment.
National Immigration Project supervising attorney, Victoria Neilson and staff attorney, Rebecca Chavez will lead the discussion on these issues and brainstorm ways to fight back.
There will not be CLE credit offered for the Resistance Roundtables.
